John Baxendale : That is a beautiful car, fantastic.
Ayoun Ghosh : nice
t2rew : What an awesome car
rob t : reminds me of my Lynx XKSS and driving flat out in france to Le mans for the classic Le mans
Josh Nisker : What is that design element called where the grille surround is painted with a contrasting colour? Popular on 60s racers...
el_juano : The real thing is absolutely my single all-time favorite car, and like the rest of you, I'll never own one. There are levels of replicas and a re-bodied Pontiac Fiero with 80's Testerossa side strakes does nothing for me. A full space-framed GT-40 or Shelby Cobra may well out perform the original, and for a gearhead, that sort of omaĝe has it's own value. Intricate recreations of originals like the one off hand crafted Peter Giachobi Ferrari are astonishing feats of automotive love and even the factory recreations of the XKJ and D-type from Jaguar itself makes a lot of sense to offer an opportunity to experience what those cars were like when they were new. Of course none of these are the real things and the overly wealthy caretakers of those prescious few multi-multi-million dollar pieces of history can feel secure that their exclusivity has not been encroached upon, (not accusing all of them of being asses, because that's a very individual choice,) but I think the fact that this gent, who has built an acceptably faithful representation of the greatest car that ever were, (hey, I admitted up front I was biased,) and actually gets to enjoy and share it, was willing to not only show it off, but give a never in a lifetime chance to someone else to drive it, without worrying about the risk to an irreplaceable genuine D-type; well that is worth far more than the cost of the car itself. Nice vid, dude. Nice car.
Tom Nixon : Sam that was a great video. Do you have any technical info on the build? Based on an etype did I hear? Was it a body swap? Thanks.
Tsar Bomba : Only thing that would have made this video perfect is if they were pulled over by a Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe 1973 "V8 Interceptor" from Mad Max.
James Eli : Passion In - Passion Out - Drive it - Love it! Brilliant!
David Banes : Awesome, replicas have a place in our motoring history, especially when they are as well executed as this one. If you're in Sydney stop off at https://classicthrottleshop.com under the railway near North Sydney railway station.
